My wife and some friends decided to indulge our craving for authentic Bengali cuisine. As soon as we arrived, the warm ambiance and the inviting aromas transported us back to those cherished Sunday morning family gatherings in Kolkata. We kicked off our brunch with luchi, aloor dum, fish fry, and a steaming cup of chai. Each dish was a delightful reminder of home, bursting with nostalgic and comforting flavors. The luchi was perfectly puffed and golden, complementing the rich and spicy aloor dum beautifully. The fish fry was crispy and flavorful, a testament to the chef's skills. And let's not forget the chai--it was the perfect ending to our meal, with just the right amount of spices. This experience was more than just a meal; it was a heartfelt journey back to the flavors of my childhood. We left feeling satisfied and happy, planning to make this a weekly ritual with family and friends.

As a Bengali from Kolkata in the Bay Area, there are very few options for authentic Bengali food from West Bengal. Talab does not disappoin. This was my second time dining with friends at Talab and everything was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. Tge ambiance was cosy and modern. We were served promptly and with a smile. The mutton duckbanglow and fish fry with kashundi deserve special mention. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys good Indian cuisine served with love and quality ingradients! If you're new to Bengali cuisine or a Bengali who misses the special foods of Kolkata, this authentic Bengali fare will be a memorable experience.

I have been looking for Bengali food in the Bay Area and this bong place is a bang on . The ambience is super elegant , the music and food is awesome . We ordered mutton dak bungalow, fish fry and garlic naan . I would give 9/10 for the food . The mutton was slow cooked and delicious. The mustard dip for fish fry was awesome. The garlic naans were crispy and super tasty . Recommending to all of you to try !

This place is clean and quiet! And the food was very good. The staff was attentive and gave great suggestions. Definitely recommend checking this place out especially if you're craving or trying Indian food for the first time! Our favorites were the chapli kabob, pani puri, and the mango mojito drink. The drink tasted like a blend of a mint mojito and a mango lassi. Also one last thing, the food didn't make us feel sluggish at all!

If there were ever a hidden gem in this wide ocean of Indian food in the Bay Area, Talab would be the one. For one, seeing a Bengali owned food joint that has eastern part of India well represented with Kolkata roles, luchi, Bengali biryani AND GUR SANDESH will transport you back to Park Street. Flavor, spices and such tenderness in something as simple as malai kebab will have you going back for more! I'd love to try out more from them including the Puchka stand right outside! To immerse yourself in another facet of the variety of Indian cuisine beyond the typical dishes, definitely check it out!!

Its located in the river oaks plaza where we have chase bank, starbucks, subway, a newly opened indian grocery store and now this little gem :) Lots of parking in the lot in front of it and lots of outdoor seating. I love how cutely they have done the inside seating and it looks chic. In $35, we got: - dum aloo - 3.5/5- spicy and thick gravy just how it should be. Only a few pieces of potato which was something i wish we had more of. It would pair perfectly with rice, poori or roti - chicken in green sauce - contains cashewnut- 4/5- flavorful gravy and good quality chicken. Loved the portion size. It paired perfectly with butter naan and rice. We got this to-go and i am deducting 1 star for the paper box takeout (doggy bag) packing for a full size portion which kinda leaked in the car due to excess oil and low quality packaging material. My suggestion would be to use plastic to go containers like other indian/ thai restaurants. The indoor seating looked really inviting so next time i plan to visit and dine in :) #supportlocal

First off, a huge congratulations to the chef for opening this restaurant. An endeavor needs encouragement and that's what we did showing up at this restaurant. It is a beautiful restaurant with a charming indoor setting. The food was great, slightly on the spicy side. They need to tone down the dpice level a bit. They need to have a couple kid friendly dishes with a lower spice level. The luchi and aloo dum was the best dish we had. My mom even said nothing should be changed in that dish. They gave a complimentary birthday cake for my mom. So hats off to the chef for starting out a business this way. Since they are getting into the restaurant industry, they have to figure out the front house service. They need to send someone out more often to check what eaters need.
